Welcome to 2018 Swimarathon!

This is the official web site about the SWF Swimarathon,
organised by The Rotary Club of South Woodham Ferrers.

The Rotary Club of South Woodham Ferrers is holding its fourteenth Swimarathon from 16th March until 18th March 2018 and is organisedto raise money for, Rotary Charities, Nominated Charities by the Swimmers and other good causes.

In 2017 we supported J's hospice and Rotary Charities. This year we are nominating Action for Family Carers in Essex.

The event entails teams of normally up to 6 sponsored swimmers to swim for a total of 55 minutes.
The sponsorship money will be donated to the Rotary Club of South Woodham Ferrers Charitable Trust to add to funds for the support of good causes.

Teams taking part can nominate 25% of the funds raised by them to go to their own charity.

To enter a team please look at the team list first to ensure the slots that are still available for you to use for your entry.

About Swimarathon

For swimmers whilst having fun and enjoying their sport to help the less fortunate in our Community by Teams of up to 6 swimmers swim as a relay ovr 50 minutes to achieve their maximum potential of lengths of the pool swum.aising funds through obtaining sponsorships for their swim. 

Teams can claim 25% of their sponsorship to be used to support their named and valid charitable cause.

When entering a team the team captain must enter the team via the team entry page into a time and date which is not already booked by another team.

The Rotary club will wiil claim the 25% Giftaid from the sposorship money pledged to use to support good causes.

Our mail charity this year will be "Action  for Carers in Essex"

  • The team that stands out with the best presentation and out fit - Medal
  • The person who shows exceptional performance - Medal

The aims of the Swimarathon are:

To encourage people to swim and there by perhaps begin a healthy activity.

South Woodham Ferrers Pool

By holding the Swimarathon here we have not only been able to raise money for charities but also promote the pool's facilities for the larger community. This is a fun event which allows everyone to support charity at the same time.

The Rotary Swimarathon committee are dedicated to organising the event and trying to make sure that all of our supporters are well informed about it and will find it a fun event to be involved in. We have online team booking in, as well as using letter and telephone systems.
